Supplies needed: notebook paper, pencils, a folder or notebook (A section within a binder is fine.)
Course Description: This course is aligned with the Georgia Standards of Excellence.
Putnam County Middle School Mission: Ensuring a high level of learning for every student.

Course Objectives:
Students will:
- Improve reading and writing skills
- Work on organization and study skills
- Think critically and problem-solve
- Communicate via accountable talk and collaborate within high-functioning group settings
Required Text(s): None- All required texts will be provided to you. Texts include: Grimm fairy tales, Freedom Riders, The Giver.
Late Work: If students are absent from school, it is their responsibility to obtain any work they may have missed while gone. Students will be given three days to make up work. If more time is needed, then they will need to meet with his or her teacher in order to extend the due date. We expect all students to be in class, every day, and complete their work in a timely manner.
